FAQ

1. What camera do you use? : Everything up to Sept 2004 was shot using a Nikon Coolpix 2500. It's a 2.1 megapixel camera with a swivel head thus you'll notice that self portraits are usually well framed and/or don't involve the use of a mirror. That's because the user can see him/herself via the LCD. In Oct 2004 I picked up a Coolpix 4100 to replace it, it's a 4 megapixel camera and the quality difference is enormous although I dearly miss the swivel head. I also have a 1972 Nikon F at my disposal but I rarely use that due to its bulk.

2. What do you take pictures of? : Nothing in particular. I usually shoot them in batches when I go out. I don't often go and take 2-3 shots, I'll take 20 or more so each page represents the effort of a full event. Some may possess no asthetic value, they may be there simply because it represents a visual memory for the people that participated in the event.

3. You suck! : Why, thank you. Do you telling me something I don't know? I will be the person to bust this little jackass.

4. What tools do you use to prepare your images? : I have a few Photoshop actions that I either use in batch mode or I have a droplet that calls the action. If the album is particularly big then I just go with batch actions and I don't fine tune; for small albums I'll tend to tinker with each individual photo. That and the fact that my site laid out using CSS means I can get my pictures up really quickly; it takes me less than a minute per picture to get them ready and online.

5. May I use your pictures? : I don't see why you would want to but as long as it isn't commercial and you credit me then it's fine. I usually have the originals around as well.
