Seattle Public Library - June 26th, 2004

The Story

I was in Seattle to catch a couple of Seattle Mariners games and between games I managed to stop by the brand new Rem Koolhas designed Seattle Public Library to grab some pictures. The building has been receiving raves and all of them are justified. The building is airy, modern and thoughtfully designed - quite simply it is a marvel and my pictures fail to do it justice. My travelling companions weren't so interested in the building and we were en route to a pricey slab of prime rib so I didn't get to spend too much time admiring the new building. I figure that on my next trip down I'll spend a few hours mining the place for the finer details.
