The Story

Ran away for a couple days to the Sunshine Coast which for this particular weekend was a bit of a misnomer as it was more rain and clouds than anything else. I had last blasted through here in 2002 with Ted after I had left my job and I had loved the place. It was quiet, beautiful and the type of place where you could sit back and do nothing for a week. The roads were also quite fun, not quite at the level of the road to Tofino but fun nonetheless and very lightly patrolled.

We had booked bed and breakfast just outside of Sechelt (the largest town on the coast) and en route stopped in each of the towns. Gibsons was where they filmed that CBC show, the Beachcombers, and Molly's Landing was apparently the shop where the show centred. I can't say as I've never seen the show but Gibsons' seems to live off this type of tourist attraction.

The b and b was great, a really nice place with friendly people. It's a shame the weather was not cooperative as the coast is gorgeous - it was still attractive but just not quite as attractive it is during warmer days. I figure I'll hit it again some nice summer day.
